Gus was a very tall, smelly man. His odor was known throughout the land. Neighbors and friends would often cover their faces with their sleeves when they came close to Gus. It was thought that his size had something to do with the smell that emanated from his body. One day when Gus was walking to the store, a very small man made a gesture noting the foul stench penetrating his nostrils. “Wow!”, the small man exclaimed, “That is quite an smell you’ve got there.” Gus, unwavering from his task of purchasing a pie for Thanksgiving, decided to ignore the small man. However undeterred, the man loudly stated, “Your stink is smellier than one thousand oxen butts!” This statement had a powerfully negative effect on Gus’ mood. His fists became clenched as if with robotic timing and precision. His knuckles whitened from the strength his muscles put forth into squeezing his fingers together.
