Bryan McCormac: Back To The Gaybour Camp

Written By: Michael Hunt

Fiction
As he saw his lover sprint past the guards, and through the doors that Ray had forgotten to lock, Bryan took a deep breath and began firing. He heard the bloodcurdling screams of several security officers as they met their violent deaths. At least four of them were a week away from retirement. Bryan then let out a cry of frustration and anguish when he heard the gun click. He was out of ammo...Phil, the corrupt RD, stood up and walked out of the cell he was taking cover in, and gave Bryan a strange look. "Well, well, well. We meet again, Bryan McCormac. I thought I'd seen the last of you when I demoted you, sent you over to the Gaybour Camp and threw Ian out of an airlock" Bryan began to get more and more infuriated with the greasy haired, stick figure of a man standing before him, but then he realised, the Captain had demoted him, not Phil, unless..."You unrobust asshat! You killed the Captain! Then, you sent me over to the Gaybour Camp to make sure nobody ever knew! I've been living there, taking Ray's shit, quite literally in some cases, just because you wanted more power?!" Phil just smiled, and began to raise his energy gun, but then, out of nowhere, some scientist teleported in out of nowhere, and a few seconds later, teleported away again. Bryan saw this as his reinforced window of opportunity, and he ran, past the guards, out the brig doors, and through the hallways of the station. He decided he needed to head over to EVA and get a space suit, so he took a toolbox from some assistant nearby and welded his way through, into the suit storage area. After putting the suit on, and grabbing an oxygen tank, he began to head into maintenance. His plan was to head east, and escape out of the Chapel's mass driver. He ran through the dark, blood coated hallways until he reached the Library, and started to enter, but was stopped in his tracks...It was Michael, he was on his knees in the hallway, with the RD standing over him, his energy gun held aloft. When he pulled the trigger, Bryan felt a pain in his heart, his lover was gone, his last chance at happiness just got it's head exploded by a laser bolt. The pain in his heart soon turned to anger, and he knew there and then that he must defeat the evil Phil McRevis, but not now, he had to head somewhere safe to formulate his plan. He had to return to the Gaybour Camp... So, he stood in the airlock, fire extinguisher at the ready, and opened it. He was propelled out into space, and he used his fire extinguisher to propel him towards the Gaybour Camp. He hit the window on one of the cells, and smashed straight through it. He exited the cell and closed the door to prevent the whole camp from being decompressed. But then he took a look around, and to his horror he saw that Ray's bloated corpse was no longer outside Mike's cell where he had left it...It was at that moment that Bryan realised he had left Ray's ID in the shuttle console, and he was now trapped yet again in the Gaybour Camp. Feeling depressed, Bryan sat down at a table, put his head in his hands and wept for the loss of his lover. But he knew that Mike would be watching over him, his spirit will always be with him, always listening to his problems despite having to put up with the other ghosts complaining that various heads of staff are incompetant, and that their deaths were unfair. So, Bryan did the only thing he could do. He waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. But nobody ever came to rescue him, because nobody ever leaves the Gaybour Camp...
