Early in Ethereals' spacefaring age, our homeworld sent out automated exploration probes loaded with unattended children.
We did not see this as immoral, the way a human would - in our culture, these children were considered lucky.
Some of these children landed on existing human colonies. Those who survived and were taken into human society were colloquially called "Star Children."
After the species formally met, it became customary for Star Children to name themselves after their home planet, Galvana, as in Ethereal culture the second name stands for a place we would someday like to see.
