Betrayals Bullet
Written By: Elizabeth Irzwell
Fiction
The man, now covered in his best friend's blood, stood stone-faced. His half-naked wife let out a blood curdling scream and looked up at him. In his hands he held a revolver. Like him, it was also blood covered. The bed his wife was on had small chunks of gore on it. The only thing he felt was rage, no remorse for his actions. They had been sneaking out for a while now and he was done with it. He knew there would be consequences, but his anger overlooked any of that. How could she, with his own best friend? He trembled at the thought, before raising his gun once again. They had been doing this for 8 months. Yet, now looking at it, it felt like an eternity to be stuck with this knowledge. Fucking hell. Tears ran down his face as he thought that this was it. He was crying over his decision. And as his wife pleaded, and begged for mercy, he looked at her pitifully. Every second he had spent with her popped into his head and all the sound in the room, the constant trickle of blood, the screams and pleas, the outside ambience. It all seemed quiet. He smiled, then pointed the gun correctly and pulled the trigger. No longer was his wife, and now, as the chamber spun to the next bullet, he pointed it at himself. The mechanical sound of the click of the trigger was the last thing he heard, before it all went out with a bang.
