Securitron: Part 3
It didn't take long for the station to delve into pure chaos. Crew members trapped in one section of the station and unable to get anywhere from the huge breaches made from explosions. Half of security was already gone. Over coms Beepsky heard the names of fallen allies, and no foes. "Enough games Pete. We settle this. You and me. Right now." Beepsky said over general coms. "By all means! I'm in the law office right now. Your friend is here with me." It was hard to find Pete's response over the cries of the station. Engineers working tirelessly no doubt and a emergency shuttle that was never called. Beepsky arrived on the scene. There was no nuke operative. Only the burning carcass of an augmented man with nothing on his person but a cigarette in his mouth. Beepsky felt nothing in that moment but rage. There was no time to grieve or mourn. Not when sick twisted fucks like Cuban Pete roam the station. "Who else is alive?" Beepsky asked on the security channel. Silence. "FUCKING HELL!" Beepsky yelled, smashing his stun baton against the reinforced window of the law office. Behind him the brig door opened, and ED-209 exited. Behind him a trail of blood. "There's only Cuban Pete left." He stated. "You hear that Pete? All your nuke ops boys are dead! You'd better give up now." Beepsky yelled over coms in anger. No response from Pete. Strange… Just then, multiple explosions were heard. Beepsky moved out of the law office and turned as it, and the dead remains of his detective friend, exploded into nothing but a gap in the station. Nearly all of the crew was no doubt dead. The station in complete ruins with the hallways having huge gaps of space. Beepsky and ED-209 were lucky they didn't need internals. Where Cuban Pete was still had yet to be known. "Any heads report your status." Beepsky said. "Looks like coms are down…" ED-209 stated. They walked silently along what was left of the hallways. Gravity shut down and they motionlessly floated alongside one another. ED-209 stopped. "Beepsky. There's no logical reason to keep fighting. The station is lost. The crew is lost. Revenge will bring none of that back." Beepsky turned back to face ED but said nothing. They both stood there not saying anything for a minute before Beepsky turned back and continued walking. ED-209 soon followed. Eventually they ended up wandering to what used to be telecoms. Now destroyed. "It's no use… He's long gone by now. The station is in ruins. My best friend is dead with no hopes of being cloned. I failed the station." Beepsky muttered to no one in particular. ED stared at him, not saying a word. Perhaps out of pity or simply lacking any words to help ease the pain, Beepsky had no idea. The two wandered until they had searched the entire ruins of the station. "Damn it he's not here… I wish I had one more shot to take him down. Him and all other scumbags who want to harm the station." "You're right Beepsky he's not here. But he is somewhere out there in space." Beepsky and ED-209 floated out into space side by side. Into the unknown. Hoping they would one day find Cuban Pete, and arrest him until his end of days.
